Test and Monitor for water in oil online

Water in lube oils can cause a lot of problems. Even diesel engines (wet systems) cannot have too much of it. Sometimes water can be added to oil deliberately (such as cases involving theft or negligence)

The presence of water can come from a number of sources. These might include tank leakage, tank condensation or deliberate causes.

Since profit margins can be severely affected by water in oil, whether lubrication oils, hydraulic oils, fuel oil, diesel , palm and vegetable oil etc it is important to monitor the water content either for auditing purposes or for the simple fact that the water can affect the performance of the machinery it is indirectly involved with.

Water in a lubrication system could corrode metal surfaces and attack bearing substrates, cause instability in the chemical additives of the lubricants, form emulsions and encourage cavitation.

EESIFLO offers an affordable solution for online monitoring of moisture or water content in oil.

The EASZ-1 can measure and report small amounts of water by monitoring the changes in the dielectric properties of the fluid passing through the instrument. Thesensor works as a capacitance device where the inner and outer tube sections form the two electrode plates in a capacitor. The process fluids form the dielectric.

The EASZ-1 measures the amount of energy that can be stored in the process fluid currently within the probe. The amount of energy that can be stored is determined by the average dielectric constant (DC) of whatever mixture currently within the probe.

Most Oils and Water have very different dielectric properties-the typical value for oil is between 1.7 and 2.1. and water has a typical value of 80. So, in other words, water is capable of storing much more energy per volume unit than the average oil.

The EASZ-1 is a simple to use instrument that can be installed in no time and accurately reports water content in a myriad of oil types. General specifications are listed below but more information can be obtained by contacting your local EESIFLO dealer who can be found on www.eesiflo.com
