 Installing the Flow Transducers onto the Pipes

In the following steps we'll enter the Measuring Mode and install the transducers onto the pipes

  1. On the Main Menu, using the 4 and 6 keys, scroll to MEA (Measuring) then press ENTER
  2. Select Channel A to measure then press ENTER
  3. Below the Channel >A< a small dash (-) or check mark () will appear as follows:

  4. if a dash (-) appears, this must be changed to a check mark () by using the 8 or 2 keys. The screen should now appear as follows

    CHANN:

  5. Press ENTER when the check mark is displayed below Channel A.
  6. When A: Reflection Mod no >YES< appears press ENTER
  7. The next screen that appears will indicate how far apart the Flow Transducers must be installed on the Outflow Pipe. Note, the distance indicated on this screen suggests millimeters, however, the distance is actually in INCHES!!! (Note to code writers ... Fix Display !!)
  8. Refer to Page 5-5 for a discussion on REFLECTED MODE.
  9. Following the recommendations found on pages 3-1 through 3-4 in the EESIFLO 6000 Series Operating Instruction, locate an appropriate mounting spot for the Transducer Pair on the OUTLET or DOWNSTREAM side of your process.
  10. Apply Ultrasonic Couplant to the bottom of the Transducers
  11. Install Transducers with arrows pointing in the same direction, and in the direction of flow. Refer to Pages 5-6 through 5-10 for Detailed Mounting Instructions
  12. Ensure Transducers are correct distance apart by pressing ENTER and reviewing the SIGNAL STRENGTH as discussed on page 5-2
  13. A GREEN signal indicates you have sufficient signal strength to begin measuring. A RED signal will indicate you should re-check your transducer installation.
  14. A screen will appear that indicates the temperature at each Temperature Sensor. Press ENTER
  15. A screen will appear that allows you to enter an offset for T1 Press ENTER
  16. A screen will appear that allows you to enter an offset for T2 Press ENTER
  17. The next screen that appears will indicate the Heat Flow in the units of your choosing.
  18. Pressing the 9 key will change the upper line of the display to present more information
  19. Pressing the 3 key will change the lower line of the display to present more information.
  20. Once measurements are complete, press BRK 3 times to shut the meter off.
