EESIFLO launches first production prototypes of non-contact flow sensing units for small line ultra low flow, ultra pure applications using patented concurrent transit time - CTT technology.

EESIFLO recently introduced a new series to their flowmeter design which is a highly accurate and affordable flowmeter that can measure extremely low flow rates and small line applications. The flowmeter consists of a flow detector and a signal converter. In the initial production prototypes , all the wetted parts have been made of PFA. This type of flowcell maintains accuracy of measurement on small diameter pipes, where several traverses of the ultrasonic signal are impractical, because it provides a much longer path length and allows for 100% area averaging of the flow profile.

EESIFLO has designed sensors to unique applications, where the piezoelectric arrangements are made out of standardized pieces, while the range and resolution is determined by a combination of frequency selection and length of the interrogation pipe. Standard Bore Diameters 6, 8 and 12mm. The technology allows the flowmeter to work even with a high degree of bubbles in the liquid.

Typical Accuracy of these units is +/-0.3% of Reading. Currently all wetted parts are made of PFA but can be fabricated in many other materials. The flow sensing is contamination free from ions or particles ,corrosion resistant, no metal parts in contact with fluid and easy to install with standard pipe sizes and threads.

Minute flow measurements are possible even down to a fraction of a ml per min.

A simple explanation but not complete is that the fluid to be measured flows through the flow tube. Two piezoelectric transducers, mounted at both ends of the measuring section generate and receive concurrent short bursts of ultrasonic waves at an average of 1000 times per second. The wave traveling with the fluid is accelerated and the wave traveling against the fluid is slowed. The difference in transit time of the signals is proportional to the velocity of the fluid. EESIFLO is using a new technique called concurrent transit time. This technique solves problems that many traditional transit time flowmeters have not overcome, namely true zero stability and immunity to temperature changes.
Range and resolution will vary with the speed of sound of the media, above table show typical values for water.

Liquids witl lower speed of sound will require shorter sensors to achieve similar performance, whereas liquids with higher speed of sound will require longer sensors.

Some typical features are :
  • Resolution 0.3mL/M (flight path dependant)
  • 4-20mA analog output
  • Binary open collector: 24 V/4 mA reed contact: 48 V/0.1 A
as state output: limit, sign change or error
as pulse output: Pulse value: (0.01...1000) units
  • Width: (80...1000) ms
In April 2006 the this model will be available as a blind unit, or with a 2X16 char LCD showing current flow and totals in selectable units

Work Modes :

  • High Resolution Flow Meter (Mono or Bi-Directional)
  • Liquid detector (alarm when no liquid in sensor)
  • Flow switch (fully programmable)

Electrical :

  • Power Supply: 12-36VD
  • Power Consumption: 120mA (24VDC)
  • Ambient Condition: 0 to 50C/30 -80% RH
  • Installation: Panel Mounting (1/8 DIN)
